My son Jack and I went for a walk. He rode his scooter and we talked as we went. Despite knowing that people are really taking the good advice to stay in, it is still surprising to see how so few people were on the roads and on the paths. The silence was the most surprising. There was so little man-made noise other than the faint buzz of distant traffic that we could hear all the birds whistling and twittering. It brought back vivid memories of childhood. Sounds from the parks and woodland. Not something you expect to hear in the city.
